basis.point Bulletin September 2026

New Frontiers, Shared Purpose and Bigger Ambitions

As we move into autumn, we do so against a challenging backdrop. With child poverty and educational disadvantage continuing to affect far too many young people across Ireland, the need for collective action has never been greater. Yet the achievements of our Patron community give us every reason to be hopeful and to aspire to a new frontier of impact.

Take for instance, the remarkable achievement of the Tenacious Ten, whose Climb for a Cause Ireland challenge raised more than €125,000. Their determination, camaraderie and commitment embody the very best of our community and demonstrate what is possible when people come together behind a shared purpose.

We are delighted to welcome Niamh Geraghty and Ronnie Griffin to our Board of Directors and share our recently published Annual Report, highlighting the opportunities created for thousands of young people through education. The stories shared throughout this year’s report are a powerful illustration of the difference our network continues to make and what can be achieved when young people are given the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.

Finally, we are excited to share news of our recognition, with basis.point receiving a Business to Arts Award and being shortlisted for a Charities Institute Ireland Best Partnership Award alongside our valued partners The Gate Theatre and Katriona O’Sullivan. These achievements reflect the strength of the collaborations that drive our work and inspire us to keep reaching higher.

Together, we are creating new pathways to opportunity for the young people and communities who need them most.
