Together, We’re Making a Difference

Educational disadvantage is still one of Ireland’s biggest challenges and it’s not something government can solve alone. It takes all of us working together. For over a decade, basis.point has been bringing the funds industry together to create real, lasting change in education.

As Edel O’Malley, our CEO, says:

We never wanted to be a quick fix; our goal was sustainable change. That requires big investment and a long-term commitment.

And 2025 was a big year for us. We strengthened how we work behind the scenes, streamlined operations, and expanded our network of partners, to make sure we can keep growing and supporting the young people who need us most.

Finding joy and fulfilment in education!

Thanks to your incredible support, our total investment in education has now reached over  €8.45 million to education, funding programmes that span the full educational lifecycle from early childhood initiatives to career readiness.

It’s helping us deliver programmes that make a real difference, programmes that give children the best start, build essential skills, support mental wellbeing, and prepare young people for college or careers.

Core programmes have expanded in both reach and impact, now operating in over 25 counties across Ireland. Many focus on literacy and numeracy, while others address pressing issues such as mental health and resilience. Recognising the growing challenges of social anxiety and emotional wellbeing, we strengthened programming that equips young people with life skills and confidence to navigate an increasingly complex world.

We welcomed three fantastic new partners:

  • The Ark – Art for Schools, bringing creativity and confidence into classrooms
  • Engage in Education, mentoring students in some of Limerick’s most vulnerable communities
  • St Gabrielles Foundation, HAPPEE addresses the gap in accessible, timely interventions for children with disabilities and neurodiverse needs

Together with our partners, we’ve reached 19,500 more children this year, bringing our total impact to 93,500 young people since we started. That’s huge—and it’s all thanks to you.

To better communicate our commitment to supporting children throughout their educational journey, we introduced four thematic pillars: Early Intervention, Fundamental Skills, Resilience & Mental Wellness, and Career Readiness. This structure allows patrons to align their support with areas of greatest relevance and impact.

There is plenty more to be done. Please reach out to discuss how your organisation can make a greater difference. Together, we can explore tailored opportunities that align with your goals and create meaningful change.
