Aligning values in mission driven purpose partnerships can be a powerful vector for change and we are delighted to welcome IPUT as a new basis.point Partner.

IPUT share our belief that investing in education encourages young people to reach their potential which in turn helps break the cycle of intergenerational hardship.

The “Time to Grow” programme will encourage collaboration and inclusivity across the funds sector. The three-year partnership with basis.point and Business in the Community is an education and workplace initiative for young people that will provide valuable work experience and work placements for Leaving Cert students in Dublin.

Each year, the programme will provide 100 work experience places for two students from each of the 50 DEIS schools in Dublin and 20 paid work placements for Leaving Cert students from the North-East Inner City.

It is hoped that this programme will go a long way towards levelling the playing field for young people from areas of disadvantage, offering an introduction to a world that may otherwise have been difficult to access, forging connections that will stand to them as they journey towards their life aspirations.

Speaking at the launch Niall Gaffney, Chief Executive of IPUT Real Estate commented

This partnership offers the opportunity for companies to connect with young students and provide them with invaluable real-world experience, while providing them with a strong foundation for their professional careers. As a proud contributor to the wider city community, we are delighted to partner with basis.point and BITC to fund these work placements that have the potential to shape the future of the workforce in Dublin.”

From our perspective, we are excited to have introduced the programme to the team at IPUT, and to play a role in driving an initiative that will go some way towards eliminating barriers for accessing quality placements for all children no matter their background.

The Time to Grow Programme aims to foster greater inclusion in the workplace for all our benefit.

If you feel your organisation is able to offer work experience and would like to get involved in the programme please contact us.

Our shared belief in the power of education and the impact it has on our future can be transformative. This programme, has the potential to bring the wider community together to help bridge the gap between education and employment and provide students with the tools and experiences they need to succeed in their careers.
