Welcome to the basis.point bulletin, our newsletter to keep our community informed whether you’re new to us or an old friend
basis.point is the Irish Fund Industry’s initiative to come together to help make a difference to those in need. As an industry, we have been lucky and avoided the worst of the recession that has caused considerable hardship for many people in Ireland.
Recognising this, a group of individuals considered how we could make a difference.
basis.point grantee progress report July 2016
The Archways and ELI/NCI basis.point initiatives aims to improve outcomes for children who live in disadvantaged communities in Dublin Inner city by offering programmes to the schools and community organisations working with them.
Here we provide an update on the progress of two programmes being offered as part of the basis.point initiative.
Hear from our patrons
We speak to Paul Fawsitt from the MoneyMate Group. Paul is CEO of MoneyMate which joined as a corporate patron of basis.point from the start. Paul talks about why they decided to became a patron and we provide information on how you can become one too.
Hear from our volunteers
Our volunteers are essential to the success of basis.point. Fiona Mulcahy, INED and volunteer with basis.point, talks about her involvement with basis.point and we provide information on how you can also get involved.
Basis.point announces new board members
We’re pleased to announce that Paul McNaughton and Pat Wall have been newly appointed to our board. These appointments reflect the importance that the charity places on future expansion and growth.
Patron sign-up grows
We are delighted to announce that we have almost doubled our patron numbers this year. As of May 31st, we have around 115 patrons, 70 individuals and 45 corporates (coming from industry companies and fund promoters).
The 2016 basis.point Corporate challenge will be held on Friday 23rd of September 2016. The event has quickly become one of the main social events for the Irish funds industry so make sure you get your tickets early to avoid disappointment. Please visit our basis.point events page for more details on all events and what to look out for over the coming months.
We very much welcome any way in which you can help us make a sustainable and tangible difference to the lives of those living in poverty, particularly young people, by supporting charities that focus on education.
Patrons and volunteers are essential to the work we do so find out how you can get involved and make a difference.
We would be particularly interested in extra support from marketing and media professionals so please get in touch if you are interested.
