May 2021 basis.point bulletin
Industry wide collaboration has the power to transform the lives of educationally disadvantaged children.
I sense a genuine feeling of optimism creeping in. We have been busy during the lockdown making sure that we are ready to have a greater impact as society reopens. We’ve redesigned our website to make it more user friendly and we’ve packed it full of data on how your generosity is helping children from disadvantaged communities to reach their potential.
We also have some important news. As an industry, we have demonstrated a willingness to collaborate. Your generosity has allowed us to commit €3million towards educational programmes that are making a difference every day to the lives of many thousands of children and young adults.
We have engaged with a new educational partner Teen Turn allowing us to deepen our social inclusiveness. And we have made it easier for you to signup as a Patron or Supporter and to manage your payments directly online.
This is a challenging time for the basis.point community. Given the unprecedented levels of poverty and hardship in society, we are more committed than ever, to explore pathways that ensure a brighter future through education. And in this, there is no doubt that we are better together.
This is not a quick fix. But these are important steps towards our shared commitment to make a sustainable difference to the lives of our most vulnerable.
Thank you to each of you for playing your part.
