Climbing Peak Lenin for a Cause: Niall Cribben’s Inspiring Journey

In just over two months, Niall Cribben Managing Director Kroll,  will embark on a journey that will test him like never before. He will be climbing Peak Lenin, a towering giant that rises on the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. This challenge is more than just a physical feat; it’s a deeply personal mission, one that will push him to his limits, both mentally and physically.

As one of our Prestige Patrons, Kroll have been committed to improving educational outcomes for young people in disadvantaged settings. Niall himself, is not just a passionate adventurer; he is also a dedicated individual patron of basis.point.

Over the years, his involvement with basis.point has been marked by his commitment to making a difference in the lives of those who need it most.

But beyond the mountain, Niall’s purpose is far greater. In memory of his late sister, a generous and caring young lady who always sought to help those less fortunate and passionately cared for the homeless throughout her time.  Niall has set a target of raising €50,000.

Monies raised will be shared equally between basis.point and Focus Ireland, two charities that support the educational and shelter needs of the underserved homeless individuals and families, and other young people experiencing disadvantage. These are two vital causes close to his heart.

Every contribution will make a difference to those most vulnerable in our society and assist in making real, concrete, positive change.

Help Niall to reach his target?

Niall is incredibly grateful for the support he has received to date.  Through various fundraising initiatives, generously supported by his colleagues and community, he has already raised over €30,000.  Kicking off with a leaders climb of Carrantouhill, next up will be a family hike around Glendalough.

If you or your company are in a position to support this cause, you can contribute here: Support Climbing for a Cause Peak Lenin 2025 on iDonate.ieLike before, Niall will pay for all his costs for this trip, ensuring that all donations go directly to those most in need. While he cannot promise that he will reach the summit, as the mountain is unpredictable and the task at hand will be gruelling, he can promise that he will give it everything he has and make his supporters, his late sister, and his family proud.

Thank you.
