RBC Race for the Kids 2022

Karen Craig, Executive Assistant, RBC Investor and Treasury Services and Joanne Shaw, Head of Marketing basis.point

RBC have opened registration to Irish participants for the global RBC Race for the Kids taking place the weekend of October 1-2nd, 2022. And for the second year in a row, Irish participants will be running in support of basis.point.

Last year, your efforts raised €22,000 which funded a wellness programme for young people, through TU Dublin, to help them re-find their equilibrium post pandemic.

Dahab Sharaby, Teen Turn Ambassador and Alumni

This year. we are teaming up with Teen-Turn, one of our educational partners dedicated to increasing third level qualifications in STEM related subjects, attained by girls from disadvantaged and underrepresented communities.

Approximately 1500 girls participate in a range of Teen-Turn programmes and yet, only 30% have their own devices.

Your funding will support these girls to cross the digital divide, by providing laptops and tablets, enabling them to fully participate in the Teen-Turn programmes and prepare them to join the workforce of the knowledge economy.

RBC Race for the Kids 2022 takes place over the weekend of 1 – 2 October and whilst essentially a virtual event, watch out for more details on meet up points where you can run or walk alongside others. Our goal is to raise another €22,000 and during the month of September, RBC will match donations up to a maximum total of €5,000.

Gary O’Leary, CEO and Ireland Country Head, RBC Investor and Security Services

Gary O’Leary, Country Head of Ireland, RBC Investor and Treasury Services, will be leading the charge on behalf of the RBC Dublin team. He’s hoping that everyone will join in and raise important funds for basis.point.

” We are delighted to be working with basis.point and Teen Turn for our local RBC Race for the Kids 2022 event. Giving young girls from under-resourced communities the tools to play a meaningful role in the 21st century workplace is a great project for us to be involved with.”

This is a great opportunity for everyone to join in and make a difference to the lives of many young girls experiencing educational disadvantage. It’s open to everyone, so please sign up today and encourage friends, family and colleagues to join you.

Registration is free of charge and you can sign up now to run, walk, skip or a scoot a distance of your choice, however and wherever you want!

Edel O’Malley, CEO of basis.point is encouraging everyone to join in.

We are really excited to be the beneficiary of the RBC Race for the Kids. I’m hoping the entire basis.point community will get behind this. Last year, I climbed the Stairway to Heaven with my sisters. Others managed to run 5km with their kids and others still took to their bikes!

You can register here for free
And whilst this is a virtual event, keep an eye out for details on some meet up points in Marley Park, Phoenix Park and St Anne’s Park.
