Ready Steady Run! 5K Phoenix Park Run.

This was a first in the events diary for basis.point. One fine Spring morning, almost 200 runners stepped out in style for the inaugural basis.point 5k run. Taking their lead from experienced marathon runner, Declan McCluskey of BNP Paribas, who is deep into his training for this year’s Boston Marathon and spurred on by the energising tunes from DJ Niall Dalton, anything seemed possible.

And so it was. Collectively, this group raised over €8000, including fund matching by BNP Paribas, going a long way to helping Declan reach his fundraising target of €20,000.

First across the line in 19 minutes and 59 seconds was Brendán Murray followed by the trio from Maples Group of Christopher Bew, Fiachra Mac Elhatton and Adam Donoghue. Collette O’Donoghue from Cork was first of the ladies, in a time of 20 minutes and 59 seconds, followed shortly behind by another Maples athlete Jennifer Dobbyn.

Participants were rewarded with a pipping hot complimentary coffee at DASH Coffee Dock after the event. What nicer way to kick start a weekend!

Thanks to all of our Patrons and Supporters who showed up in such numbers and a special mention to Corporate Patrons BBH, Carne, EY, KPMG, Maples Group, Matheson and Northern Trust who each registered teams on the day.

Sincere thanks to the team at The Hole in the Wall Pub and DASH Cafe, for choosing basis.point as their charity for their Spring 5k Dash.
