Stepping into their shoes, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Paul Kilcullen and Laura Trimble to the basis.point Board of Directors, continuing our resolve and commitment to brighter futures for children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Paul Kilcullen, CEO of BNY Mellon and Country Head, is a long standing and committed Individual Patron of basis.point and has championed the charity’s work amongst his peers, instigating an important Digital Citizens Programme in partnership with BNY Mellon, basis.point and Teen-Turn.

Laura Trimble, CEO of HSBC Ireland, is a strong advocate for the importance of an inclusive environment that provides opportunities to all, whatever their circumstances, upbringing, or background.

Laura became aware of the important impact that basis.point could have through her involvement with HSBC’s 21st Century Employability Programme with basis.point and Foróige. Taking up a position on the Board is a natural fit.

Paul and Laura bring renewed energy and wealth of insights and perspectives, that will help accelerate growth and enable us to support greater numbers of children to reach their potential through education.

We would also like to take the opportunity to thank outgoing Directors Adrian Waters and Fiona Mulcahy. We have much to be grateful for. 10 years ago, they were part of a group of socially minded individuals, who set about with passion and conviction to build cross industry collaboration to combat educational disadvantage.

Adrian used his personal network to drive both corporate engagement and buy in from senior leaders across the industry. Fiona set about engaging with educational experts looking for proven educational programmes that would deliver impact and built out the criteria for grants and the due diligence framework that remains strong and in place today.

As a result of these significant appointments basis.point can look forward to exploring new avenues to strengthen the impact we can have on the lives of the most vulnerable in our communities.

Thank you.
