1st Annual basis.point Corporate Challenge

The First Annual basis.point Corporate Challenge was held in Milltown Golf Club on Thursday 26 September 2013. A great day was held with over 120 golfers taking part and 150 people attending the evening reception and dinner.

Fr Peter McVerryFr Peter McVerry SJ spoke prior to dinner about the work of the Peter McVerry Trust which was established in 1983 to tackle homelessness, drug misuse and social disadvantage. Since then it has supported thousands of young people on the margins of Irish society.

Fr McVerry welcomed the launch of basis.point and spoke about the need for us all to get involved in whatever way we can to try a make a difference to those in need.

William Fry teamAfter dinner the prizes were presented with the Cathal Lavelle Trophy being awarded to the William Fry team of Cormac Commins, Michelle McGrath, Dan Morrissey and Paul Shovlin.

Gayle Bowen of Walkers shared some memories of our much loved former colleague and friend Cathal Lavelle who passed away in August 2013.

She thanked basis.point on behalf of all the staff at Walkers Ireland and Cathal’s family for dedicating the annual trophy in Cathal’s memory.
