RBC select basis.point as Irish charity for global Race for the Kids.

For the first time ever, RBC opened registration to Irish participants for the global RBC Race for the Kids event weekend on October 16-17th, 2021. And we are delighted that Irish participants will be running in support of the Irish Funds charity, basis.point, whose ambition is to give every child in Ireland equal access to a brighter future through education.

Funding will support an innovative educational programme aimed at fostering mental wellbeing and resilience amongst incoming students to DEIS secondary schools. Students will engage in a programme that builds leadership skills, emotional and mental resilience and positive wellbeing.

Longstanding Patron Padraig Kenny will be leading the charge on behalf of the RBC Dublin team.

” Many young people are really struggling after the difficulties of remote learning and associated social isolation. It’s important we do all in our power to develop resilience needed in today’s world.”

This is a great opportunity for everyone to join in and raise much needed funds for basis.point. It’s open to everyone, so please sign up today for free and encourage friends family and colleagues to join you.

Due to the ongoing impacts of COVID-19, RBC Race for the Kids will take place in its global, virtual format. It has been made more appealing with the addition of a virtual participant experience with a new mobile app that can be downloaded upon registration.

Feeling inspired? RBC Race for the Kids 2021 takes place on 16 – 17 October and you can sign up now to run, walk, skip or a scoot a distance of your choice, however and wherever you want!

We are calling on all patrons, supporters, friends of basis.point and their families to have a go!  Edel O’Malley, CEO of basis.point is encouraging everyone to join in,

We are really excited to be the beneficiary of the RBC Race for the Kids. I’m hoping the entire basis.point community will get behind this. Young people throughout Ireland have given up so much to keep us all safe. Let’s show our gratitude by lacing up!! I certainly intend to give it a go!

You can register for free and get started.

So far, almost 300 participants have registered. Our goal is to raise €30,000. Let’s get behind this great initiative.
