September 2023 basis.point Bulletin

Human. Kind. Be both!

I was reminded of this pertinent expression at a recent Charities Institute meeting and realised that it was exactly this that made our work at basis.point so rewarding. By embracing both our humanity and kindness, we not only enrich our own lives but also contribute to creating a more compassionate and understanding world for everyone.

And it is also precisely this respect for humanity and kindness prevalent at the core of so many of our programmes that has such a transformative impact on the lives of young people. Each of us should feel proud of the role we are having, so please take a moment to read updates on progress to date.

This was also in evidence at our first Regional Dinner held in Cork, where we were joined by Minister Michael McGrath who spoke from the heart of his own personal educational journey.

It is a privilege for each of us to embrace our common humanity and practice kindness. In a world marked by divisions and differences, our efforts play a role in levelling the playing field and continue to create brighter futures. Let us keep pushing forward.
